This piece here was produced from a performative piece of work involving use of the female body and its natural shapes and curves to produce an abstract painting. The resulting t-shirt is a print and a physical representation of the process involved to create the work.
ABOUT
THE MEANING BEHIND
This whole piece was about using the female figure, to make a representation of myself through painting. I wanted to show what my body looked like in the form of typical painting. It shows me through my movement and natural form and shape of my figure. It has a sensual feel to the work, as it’s formed from direct contact with my skin. The close and intimate contact between me and the t shirt gives an erotic and life like feel to the work. Its almost as if I’m wearing who I am on the outside, in contrast to the idea that beauty is on the inside. This top is a physical expression of who I am inside, in full display for everyone to see.
